World Food Convention 2021

The global society is facing major challenges. The growing population of the planet must be fed in a fair and sustainable manner. Producing enough food causes new, different problems which harm the climate. On top of that, the COVID-19 pandemic endangers the security of food production and the stability of supply chains, threatening food safety.

Against this backdrop, scientific institutions as well as companies from both the old and the new economy are searching for ways to cope with these challenges. At our 5th World Food Convention, we invite the leading minds from science, politics and the economy to discuss how food security can be ensured all over the planet without further exacerbating climate change, and to find strategies to address these issues with regard to possible future pandemics.

The focus will not only be on the technological and technical aspects of food production and distribution but also on related ethical questions and political considerations.

About us

Der Tagesspiegel is the capital's leading media organization. It has the highest paid  circulation of any newspaper in the region of the capital with a market  share that has been growing for over ten years. Der Tagesspiegel is one of the most quoted newspapers in Germany and reaches more policy-makers in the Berlin region than all national subscription-based newspapers  combined. With a slight increase in paid circulation, Der Tagesspiegel  reports one of the best circulation developments of all German  newspapers in the last IVW surveys (Source: IVW). The editorial staff  and publishing house are being continuously expanded in order to meet  the challenges of the media market. Der Tagesspiegel as well as Die  Zeit, Handelsblatt and WirtschaftsWoche belong to Dieter von  Holtzbrinck's DvH Medien GmbH.
