One day and up to 70 top international scientists, who presented their innovative concepts and visions in 3-minute short talks, keynotes and debates.

Once again, Berlin’s leading newspaper Tagesspiegel and the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité (BIH) brought together the most innovative international scientists and research organizations. Physicians, health care experts, researchers, policy-makers, developers, engineers, innovators, representatives of industry, entrepreneurs, investors and all those interested in the future of medicine came together for this year's Future Medicine Science Match 2022 to present and discuss their projects.

Topic

After two digital-only events, we were back, live on stage, for the seventh Future Medicine Science Match 2022. And we were back with the exciting 3-min presentations where scientists from Berlin, Germany and from all over the world show us their solutions and visions about the future of medicine. 

The focus of this year´s conference was on how to build an ecosystem for innovation in the life sciences. How can academia, business and society establish a new collaborative for innovation? The emphasis this year was not only be on specific medical topics – such as cell and gene therapies - but also on the challenge of building a suitable frame to fulfil the mission of the BIH: Turning research into health. 

This year's focus: Building an ecosystem for innovation in the life sciences

· Societal and Medical Need: The role of cell- and nucleic acid-based therapies and digitization

· Future Work: The role of shared laboratories and incubators

· Raising Funds: How to attract investors and venture capital (including Stories from Real Life: How to succeed when building your start-up) 

· Mindset and Education: The new generation of innovators, entrepreneurial scientists and physicians

The Future Medicine Science Match was part of the Berlin Science Week.
